A first tandem flight is mostly a booking and weather decision, not an athletic challenge. The useful way to decide is to look at the actual logistics, what you want to learn or experience, and what the current listing includes for your date.
Tandem means the pilot flies
For a normal tandem booking, the operator supplies the wing, harness and pilot. Your job is to follow the launch instructions and communicate clearly. Read the listing for mobility, age or weight restrictions because those can vary by operator.
Weather is part of the product
Paragliding cannot be scheduled with the certainty of a museum ticket. Wind, visibility and cloud conditions matter. A delay or cancellation for weather is not automatically bad service; it can be evidence that the operator is treating conditions seriously.
Compare the whole package
Look beyond the headline flight time. Transport, waiting time, photo or video packages, insurance, language and cancellation rules can change the value of two otherwise similar listings.
Keep the rest of the day flexible
Do not put a non-refundable airport transfer or hard dinner reservation immediately after a weather-dependent activity. Give the flight a buffer so a safe delay does not turn into a stressful day.
